Extreme Martin Makeover – April 2010

We launched our first East Stuart Housing project in April 2010.  We partnered with local churches and the City of Stuart.  Habitat for Humanity played a major role and has continued to do so in subsequent events, the same can be said for Waste Management. The city suggested rehabbing houses on two streets, helped to bring new partners to the table including Make Martin Beautiful. They donated the use of the Stuart Trolley which was a huge success and suggested a neighborhood cleanup which worked out very well. We did our first barbeque and served the volunteers and neighbors a sumptuous lunch on the last day. Landscaping was added to our projects and has made a significant difference in the look of the neighborhoods. Twenty homes where rehabbed and preparation for the next year’s event was started.
